Tomasz Guzik is a physician and clinician scientist in cardiovascular medicine. Over more than two decades his research has characterised the role of reactive oxygen species and of innate and adaptive immunity in vascular dysfunction and hypertension, and more recently the neuro-immune links between hypertension, atherosclerosis and cognitive impairment.
He trained in medicine and molecular medicine in Kraków and Oxford, holds specialist certification in internal medicine and in allergy and clinical immunology, and was awarded the title of Professor by the President of the Republic of Poland. He has published more than 400 original studies in journals including Nature, the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet and Circulation, and has been named a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate every year since 2021.
He has led national medical societies and research-funding boards, has advised ministries on science policy and serves on international scientific advisory boards.
Through Veritas Clinical Innovations he advises companies, investigators, investors and institutions on therapeutic discovery and development, clinical study design, AI-enabled clinical research and scientific due diligence, and teaches the cardiovascular risk prediction, longevity and AI programmes.
